Daito Ryu Aiki Jujutsu is a 1200-year-old Japanese National Treasure. The devastatingly-effective classical locks and throws from this authentic Takeda-clan samurai art are as beautiful as they are effective. Roy Goldberg Shingen Sensei is a Rokudan (Sixth Degree Black Belt) who has earned the Kyoju, a rare high-level traditional teaching license.  He is the Eastern United States Regional Director for the North American Daito Ryu Aikijujtsu Kodo Kai (NADRAJKK). Sensei is the senior student of Hawayo Kiyama Shihan, who is the Director of the NADRAJKK. Under the tutelage of Kiyama Shihan, Goldberg Sensei has tested for and earned all of his black belt ranks in Daito Ryu at Kodo Kai Hombu Dojo in Kitami, Japan. 

In January, 2012, David LoPriore Sensei opened Bushidokai Dojo's Daito Ryu Aikijujutsu Kodo Kai classes to the public.  LoPriore Sensei is one of only a handful of certified Daito Ryu Aikijujutsu Kodo Kai Study Group Leaders.  He has been given permission to teach the art at Bushidokai and in seminars under the auspices of Goldberg Shingen Sensei.  This a great honor and opportunity, as Daito Ryu is rare in its authenticity and subtlety.  Shugyo (austere training) is the mark of serious Daito Ryu students.  Martial artists interested in traditional training in this authentic samurai art are encouraged to visit our Dojo to see if you are a fit for these classes.

Goldberg Shingen Sensei will continue to come to Bushidokai Dojo to teach and inspire us with his Tuesday night seminars in 2012 (and beyond!)  He will be here at least eight times in 2012 for monthly seminars, and also for a weekend, March 31st & April 1st, 2012.
