Kosho Shorei Shin Kai Calendar:
Bushidokai Traditional Martial Arts, Kosho Shorei Shin Kai Hombu Dojo Calendar (White through Green Belts)
This is a monthly class, being held regularly on the last Saturday of the month. Various forms of Japanese and Chinese energy cultivation exercises, and Asian medicine theory and techniques will be taught.
The energy cultivation exercises will be selected forms of Japanese Ki-waza, and/or Chinese Qigong or Neigong which will complement the lessons offered in Asian medicine. They build both the health and treatment abilities of the practitioners. Ki-Waza are basic and advanced Japanese energy cultivation exercises for health, martial power and mindfulness. Qigong are Chinese energy collection and balancing exercises. Neigong are Advanced Chinese "Internal Cultivation" exercises for the health of the Qi--vital/functional energy, Shen--heart/mind/spirit, and Jing--vital longevity energy.
The Asian medicine taught will generally be shiatsu bodywork therapy theory and technique, including anma (massage) and tsubo ryoho (acu-point therapy using acupressure). Topics may also include microsystems therapies, dietary and other lifestyle wellness theory, and Chinese herbal medicine information for laymen.
These classes are open to students with a Daito Ryu membership only. All other classes are included with full membership in Kosho Shorei Ryu training at Bushidokai except for these.

Saturday*: 10:00am-1:00pm • 2:30-4:00pm + Adv. Class (Yonkyu & up) 4:00-6:00*
* Please bring jo, bokken, tanjo, tanto, and strap-on zori (such as Tevas) for the 2:30 & 4pm classes. Weather-permitting, they may be held outside.
This event is a great opportunity for all serious students of Kosho Shorei Shin Kai's traditional Kosho Shorei Ryu to enjoy immersion in Shugyo of our precious art. The training will cover many teachings of the Eight Arts of traditional Kosho Shorei Ryu, as integrated to form a time-tested ancient method for discovering clarity of the Principles of Natural Law.
This year, Kai Cho LoPriore we will be emphasizing Goken & Seiken Kata. Students will also learn Juken Kata, advanced bunkai, ki-waza, acupuncture meridial- and point-energetics theory, philosophy, history, kobudo (weapons training), and possibly shodo (calligraphy) as they relate to the practice of Sei-Kempo, and to Life. Although everyone will likely learn new techniques, kata, and technical skills, this Dai Keiko "Great Training" will do what Kosho Shorei Ryu does best: expose students to the essence of True Nature: of the Art, and of the Self.
Over the years, with the participation of some of Kai Cho's students who head up their own KSSK Dojo, and others who lead Official KSSK study groups in other states and countries, this event is always great training and lots of fun -- so come enjoy some great Shugyo!
